Use Pythagorean theorem to decide which of these measures would be correct for the lengths of the sides of a right triangle.
blagie [28]

Answer: D) 9, 12, 15

Step-by-step explanation:

The side lengths need to satisfy the Pythagorean theorem, a^{2}+b^{2}=c^{2}

A) 2^{2}+3^{2}=4^{2} \longrightarrow 13=16, which is false.

B) 7^{2}+11^{2}=14^{2} \longrightarrow 170=196, which is false.

C) 8^{2}+10^{2}=12^{2} \longrightarrow 164=144, which is false.

D) 9^{2}+12^{2}=15^{2} \longrightarrow 225=225, which is true.

PLEASE HELP FAST:
just olya [345]
I don’t know if you can even read this but make your graph points, rather than 1,2,3,4 etc. Make them 1/4,2/4,3/4,4/4, and 1/2,2/2,3/2,4/3, etc.. at least until you can plot your points. Make the numbers into mixed fractions or improper fractions whatever they call it. Make it to where the top is bigger than the bottom by multiplying the whole number by the denominator.

How to convert from standard form to vertex form
sergiy2304 [10]

ANSWER

See explanation

EXPLANATION

The standard form of a quadratic equation is:

y = a {x}^{2}  + bx + c

To convert this function to standard form, you follow the steps below:

  • Factor 'a' from the variable terms
  • Add and subtract the square of half the coefficient of x.
  • Factor the perfect squares
  • Simplify the constant terms to get the vertex form as
  • y = a {(x - h)}^{2}  + k

For example:

Given the standard form:

y = 2 {x}^{2}  + 12x + 10

Factor 2 from the variable terms

y = 2 {(x}^{2}  + 6x) + 10

Add and subtract the square of 3.

y = 2 {(x}^{2}  + 6x + 9 - 9) + 10

y = 2 {(x}^{2}  + 6x + 9) + 2( - 9) + 10

Factor the perfect square an simplify

y = 2  ({x + 3)}^{2}  - 8

This is the vertex form
