Answer:

The main difference between Prokaryotic and Eukaryotic cell is that, eukaryotes contain membrane bound organelles like nucleus where as prokaryotes do not. The genetic material is present at the center and is called nucleoid in prokaryotes.

Explanation:

Example of prokaryotes include bacteria and archea bacteria. Examples of eukaryotes include plants and animals. Prokaryotes lack organelles such as mitochondria, endoplasmic resticulum and lysosomes which are present in eukaryotes. Both the groups contain ribosomes but its 70s ribosome in prokaryotes and 80s ribosomes in eukaryotes.

Answer:

Eukaryotes possess a well-defined nucleus and genetic material (DNA) is not freely suspended in the cytoplasm whereas prokaryotes lack a well-defined nucleus and genetic material is freely suspended in the cytoplasm.

Explanation:

There are two different kinds of cells.

1- Prokaryotic cells

2- Eukaryotic cells

Organisms possessing Prokaryotic cells are called Prokaryotes.

Organisms possessing Eukaryotic cells are called Eukaryotes.

PROKARYOTIC CELLS:

Greek pro: before and karyon: kernel/nut

1-They don't have a well-defined nucleus and genetic material is freely suspended in the cytoplasm. Genetic material (DNA) is not bounded by a double nuclear membrane.

2- They don't possess most of the membrane bound organelles like Endoplasmic retiuculum, mitochondria etc.

3- They are more primitive cells.

4- They have smaller ribosomes (70S).

5- They reproduce by binary fission.

6- They possess a cell wall. Cell wall is made up of peptidoglycan (murein).

EXAMPLES:

 • Cells of Bacteria

=> Bacteria is a prokaryote as it possesses prokaryotic cells.

EUKARYOTIC CELLS:

Greek Eu: True and karyon: nut/kernel

1- They have a well-defined nucleus. Nucleus is bound by double nuclear membrane. Genetic material (DNA) is not freely floating in the cytoplasm.

2- The possess membrane bound organelles like Endoplasmic reticulum, mitochondria etc.

3- They are more advanced cells.

4- They have larger ribosomes (80S).

5- Somatic cells (cells that form the body of the organism) reproduce by mitosis and gametes (germ cells) reproduce by meiosis.

6- They may or may not possess a cell wall. Cell wall is absent in animal cells whereas it is present in plants, fungi and some protists. Cell wall of plants is made up of cellulose whereas cell wall of fungi is made up of chitin.

EXAMPLES:

 • Human cells
 • Plant cells

=> Humans are eukaryotes because they possess eukaryotic cells.

Which structure makes proteins using coded instructions that come from the nucleus?
Gelneren [198K]
Fundamentally, the cell would cease to function and possibly die. Proteins are used for cellular repairing and chemical processes. Ribosomes are one of the most important organelles in the cell, mostly part of the rough endoplasmic reticulum. It manufactures enzymes such as proteins which will be utilized by many organelles in the cell. Microtubules are one, responsible for the framework and acts as a skeleton of the cell –cytoskeleton needs proteins, also cytoplasm and other organelles of the cell. For a prokaryote or a eukaryote cell to survive, they need protein.

Beaks in African black-bellied seedcracker finches are small or large, but not intermediate in size. This is an example of
alexdok [17]

Answer:

disruptive selection

Explanation:

Disruptive selection may be defined as a type of a natural selection which selects against some average individual in a given population. These makeup of such a type of the population shows the phenotypes of both the extremes of characteristics but they have very few individuals in the middle.

Disruptive selection is also known as diversifying selection.

In the given context, the beaks of an African seedcracker finches may be small or may be large but they are not of the intermediate size. Such a selection is known as disruptive selection in species.

When the cells of most organisms freeze, they burst. whitch property of water cause this to occur?
xz_007 [3.2K]
Cells of most organisms freeze due to the fact that. Water is less dense as a solid than as a liquid. To elaborate when you quickly freeze and organism the internal portion of that organism is freezing at a much slower rate. SO the outside portion becomes rigid eventually breaking is you freeze it at a slower rate less cells will be damaged.

What is the European Union’s most important water pollution act called
yawa3891 [41]

Answer: The European Union's most important water pollution act is called Water Framework Directive.

The demand for clean lakes and rivers, coastal beaches and groundwater by the environmental organizations and the citizens the commission made water conservation a chief priority under which the Water Framework Directive was made. The Water Framework Directive has some of key objectives like expansion of the scope of water protection for all types of water sources, water managements on the basins of rivers, ensuring proper quality standards, involvement of citizens and correct pricing etc.
