Answer:$48(0.55)—I promise this is correct. The others who answer $48(0.55)+$48 did NOT read the question correctly.  The question reads: which expression should be used to find the AMOUNT OF THE MARKUP.

Step-by-step explanation:

correct answer:

$48(0.55)=$26.40 that is the amount of the markup.

wrong answer:

$48(0.55)+$48 if you add $26.40 to $48, you get the RETAIL price.

Not to brag, but we made A 100%. This is the correct answer.  It really bugs me when they phrase these question so poorly.  Especially when school systems like ours s don’t give us teachers who we can go to for assistance.

Option D. 7/250 = 24.8/x; 885.71

Step-by-step explanation:

we know that

Using proportion

\frac{7}{250} \frac{cm}{mi}=\frac{24.8}{x} \frac{cm}{mi}\\ \\x=250*24.8/7\\ \\x=885.71\ miles

An air traffic controller spots two airplanes at the same altitude converging to a point as they fly at right angles to each oth
dedylja [7]

Answer:

(a) D(t) = 250t -500 miles

(b) Controller has 2 hours, but including time for pilots to divert course or altitude.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

two planes at same altitude heading in a collision course.

Plane A at 400 miles from collision point at 200 mph

Plane B at 300 miles from collision point at 150 mph.

Theoretical collision happens in

t = 400/200 = 300/150 = 2 hours

Distance ya of plane A from collision point as a function of time in hours

ya(t) = 400 -200t

Distance yb of plane B from collision point as a function of time in hours

yb(t) = 300-150t

(a) Distance between two planes,

Since the two planes are on courses perpendicular to each other, will need using pythagorean theorem

D(t) = sqrt(ya(t)^2+yb(t)^2)

= sqrt((400-200t)^2+(300-150t)^2)

= 250(t-2)

D(t) = 250t -500 miles

b. time available

Time until D(t) = 0

solve D(t) = 0

D(t) = 0

250(t-2) = 0

t = 2  (two hours)

A plane, initially traveling 150 mi./hr. 100 east of north, suddenly enters a region where the wind is blowing at 50 mi./hr. fro
Leona [35]

Answer:

the Velocity of the plane is 100 mi/hr along the northeast direction

Step-by-step explanation:

According to the Question,

  • Given That, the Initial velocity of the plane is 150 mi/hr along the east north direction and the wind is blowing at 50 mi/hr along the southwest direction

since the velocity of wind and plane is exactly opposite

  • the relative velocity of the plane with respect to the wind is given by

V_{r} = V_{p} -V_{w}  , where  V_{p} is the velocity of plane = 150mi/hr and V_{w} = velocity of wind = 50 mi/hr

  • Therefore,  Relative Velocity = 150-50 ⇒ 100mi/hr along northeast direction

Thus, the velocity of the plane is 100 mi/hr along the northeast direction

He Martins have a solar energy system. The system produces 9.1 Kilowatts of energy each hour. The system produces electricity fo
laiz [17]

Answer:

4550 kilowatt

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that :

Amount of energy produced per hour by solar energy system = 9.1 kw per hour

Number of hours for which electricity is produced per day = 5 hours

How much energy will be produced in 100 days

Number of kilowatt of energy produced per day:

Energy produced per hour * number of hours

9.1 kw per hour * 5 hours = 45.5 Kilowatt per day

In 100 days :

Daily energy produced * number of days

45.5 kilowatt * 100 days

4550 kilowatt
