To better facilitate an understanding of layout issues, Arnold Palmer Hospital studies using (A) queuing theory.

Explanation:

Queuing theory also known as the  "queuing theory" it is used to  examine the various  component in waiting line that needs to be served.

The queuing theory refers to the various component like the arrival process,the service process,number of computerized system, number of servers used and the number of people  in queue (i.e customers)

The various  applications of the queuing theory include -traffic management,(vehicles management, two or four wheeler), scheduling patients in government hospitals, jobs that are done on machines, computer programs), and facility designs of  supermarkets.

Thus,In a hospital settings the layout issues can be dealt by understanding the queuing theory.

A firm has a profit margin of 5.1 percent, a total asset turnover of 1.84, and a return on equity of 16.2 percent. What is the d
Jet001 [13]

Answer:

Debt / Equity = 0.72649 : 1 or 72.649%

Explanation:

The ROE or return on equity can be calculated using the Du Pont equation. It breaks the ROE into three components. The formula for ROE under Du Pont is,

ROE = Net Income / Sales * Sales / Total Assets * Total Assets / Shareholder's equity

or

ROE = Net Income / Total equity

Assuming that sales is $100.

Net Income = 100 * 0.051 = 5.1

Total Assets = 100 / 1.84

Total Assets = 54.35

0.162 = 5.1 / Total equity

Total Equity = 5.1 / 0.162

Total Equity = 31.48

We know that Assets = Debt + Equity

So,

54.35 = Debt + 31.48

Debt = 54.35 - 31.48

Debt = 22.87

Debt / Equity = 22.87 / 31.48

Debt / Equity = 0.72649 : 1 or 72.649%

There are 6 cities (1-6) in Araxi County. The county must determine where to build fire stations. The county wants to build the
nikdorinn [45]

Answer:

a.

Look at the two attached figures please. The decision variables is the choice to build a fire station in which city.

So there are six decision variables each taking a value of either 0 or 1.

D1 = decision to build fire station in city 1, (1 denotes yes and 0 denotes no)

D2 = decision to build fire station in city 2, (1 denotes yes and 0 denotes no)

D3 = decision to build fire station in city 3, (1 denotes yes and 0 denotes no)

D4 = decision to build fire station in city 4, (1 denotes yes and 0 denotes no)

D5 = decision to build fire station in city 5, (1 denotes yes and 0 denotes no)

D6 = decision to build fire station in city 6, (1 denotes yes and 0 denotes no)

b.

Please look at attachment

C .

The figure 1 denotes the problem formulation in excel and shows all the formulas.

In first step, a matrix is prepared to denote all cities which are within 15 minutes by 1 and others by zero

A array of decision variables for selecting the city is shown. A 1 in cell implies that city is selected and 0 means the city is not selected.

A product of the selection variable and the value in the within 15 minutes matrix is calculated as shown by the formula.

The constraint is to ensure that all cities have at least one fire station mapped within 15 minutes.

d.

The problem is solved in Excel using integer programming and the solution is that City 2 and 4 should be selected for building fire stations and thus total no of fire stations are two with every city within 15 minutes.
