2. Look at the number itself. If you are dealing with a positive, you count up to get higher numbers. If you are dealing with a negative(a number with - at the beginning) you count up to get lower numbers.
3. Compare the decimal in the number to the decimal in the other number.
4. Look at the greater-than and less-than signs.
5. Use what you know about positive and negative numbers and decimals and apply that to the statement. If the statement makes sense, it is true. If the statement does not make sense, it is false.
