How do you think piracy affected Spanish rule in the Americas?
Valentin [98]

Answer:

Piracy is not just about business, sovereignty, and government, but war. An extraterrestrial alien who had no knowledge of the human rules of war might have a difficult

time deciding whether the violence of looting after fighting in a conflict between humans

was legitimate or not, an act of legitimate war or illegitimate, violent theft. A legal

problem exists here in that the same people may be doing the same action in one place

and in another place, and in the first place they are perhaps doing these things legally,

and in the second, illegally. The key is whether states have commissioned crews or not; if

they have, then the looting is “legitimate” and the fighting is considered “war.” if they

haven’t, then it is piracy.

Based on the document above and your knowledge of U.S. history, what was the real end result of sharecropping?
inna [77]

Answer:

The sharecropping system put the small farmer in a vicious circle of debt that continued to grow.

Explanation:

Sharecropping is an arrangement between a landowner and a tenant where the landowner gives the tenant permission to use the land in return for a percentage of the crops that are grown on the land. This was a common practice in the Southern United States after the Civil War where many white landowners would rent land to black families who planted cash crops like cotton and tobacco. The landlords and merchants in the local economy would lease tools and other equipment to the renters, often enticing unsuspecting sharecroppers to start purchasing seed, fertilizer, food, and other items on a credit system that then left them in debt, with unpaid debts accumulating and carrying over from year to year. This perpetuated inequalities and kept many black families living in poverty after the civil war.
