validity and reliability of the seated medicine ball throw as a measure of upper body power in older women
AveGali [126]

The correct answer is :

An upper body performance test known as the sitting medicine ball throw (SMBT) is used to assess muscular health in older people. The aim of this study was to assess the test-retest reliability and validity of the SMBT in older women. In this study, 35 ladies (mean age: 75.15 + 6.39 years) took part. Over the course of three sessions, subjects completed SMBT trials utilising standard ball masses (SMBT4 lb and SMBT3 kg). On the first day, instruction in the SMBT and chest press 1 repetition maximum (CP1RM) was given. The tests were repeated on day 2, but data were recorded. On day 3, SMBT was retested, and then chest press peak power (CPPP) values between 30 and 80 percent of CP1RM were assessed.

The CPPP and SMBT4lb (r = 0.775, p 0.001) and SMBT3kg (r = 0.734, p 0.001) exhibited significant relationships (p 0.05), and the SMBT distance showed expected ageing reductions (r = -0.724 to -0.626, p 0.001), proving its validity. There was found to be high reliability between testing days, and Bland-Altman plots revealed few locations that deviated significantly from the bounds of agreement. The SMBT is a valid and incredibly trustworthy instrument that health providers can use to track upper body muscular power deficits in older women and enhance treatment regimens.

Most Americans are aware of the importance of personal space. Edward T. Hall, however, contends that there are actually four zon
SSSSS [86.1K]

Answer:

The most acceptable zone with friends is A. Personal distance.

Explanation:

Edward T. Hall developed an idea known as Proxemics, which centers on the idea that every individual can use his/her space a certain way and the effects it can have on our social interaction, behavior, etc.

There can be 4 horizontal distances:

  1. Intimate: touching, embracing.
  2. Personal: interaction with close friends, family.
  3. Social: interaction with people one knows but is not that familiar with, such as coworkers.
  4. Public: with the general public.

In this case, when an individual has an encounter with good friends, he/she tends to stay in the personal distance. It would become an intimate distance if we are talking about a couple or really close friends but in this case, since it is most of the individual's friends, the interaction stays in the personal distance.
