Geographically speaking, the land of Greece can be classified as a "peninsula" because it is <em>surrounded by water on three sides. </em>These bodies of water are the <u>Aegean Sea, Mediterranean Sea and Ionian Sea.</u> Such situation allowed the ancient Greeks to be skillful in sailing. It is said to be of similar size to that of<em> "Louisiana" </em>and is covered mostly by many mountains.
