Should Congress have the power to refuse to vote on a justice nominee? Why or why not?
Shkiper50 [21]

Answer:

It is the duty of Congress to have hearings in order to confirm a Supreme Court Justice nominee (as stated in the Constitution). This exclusive power rests on the U.S. Senate. The consensus, however, may be different and may vote against a nominee. Political parties within the Senate generally get in the way of who will vote and who won't, and vice-versa.

Explanation:

For example, Merrick Garland (former President Obama's nominee) was not given a hearing. Furthermore, Congress failed to perform the duties to have a hearing and decide whether to vote or deny a nominee. This is an example of how they refused to even vote on him. This is not the way government should operate.

Mariana [72]

It should be noted that driving slower in the left lane is a violation of traffic law because laws don't permit driving slower in the left lane.

Traffic lane

Driving slower in the left lane is a violation of traffic law, as the laws don't permit drivers to drive slower in the left lane. Slower driving can be exercised in the right lane.

Also, the drivers cannot follow the practice of driving slower than the surrounding speed of other cars, as it makes the road dangerous and is therefore punishable with appropriate fines and penalties.

NeX [460]

Answer:

Act of State Doctrine.

Explanation:

According to the U.S Constitution, the Act of State Doctrine is a principle that respects the sovereignty of an independent state. It declares that sovereign states should respect the independence and integrity of other independent sovereign states.

The doctrine implies that domestic decisions of sovereign states should not be questioned by other independent states. Domestic decisions of another independent state should be respected by other independent states.

Here, since Nation A has apprehended the culprit in its country, it has the full right to decide what punishment and verdict should be given to the culprit. Through the Act of State Doctrine, it gains full immunity to handle the culprit on its own discretion. Nation B has no right to make any claims or alter the decision of Nation A.
