Two partners are working on a project together. Each partner works on her own part, and each can put in effort or not, after whi

ch the project outcome is realized. Neither partner observes the effort put in by the other before making their effort choice. The project is most successful if both put in effort, somewhat successful if only one partner puts in effort, and least successful if neither puts in effort. Both partners rank the outcome where they both put in effort the highest---effort is costly, but is worth it with joint effort. Both partners rank the outcome in which neither put in effort second-best---even though the project is not that successful, neither feels guilty or let-down by the other. However, each partner would rather be the only one who did not put in effort rather than the only one who did.

Answer:

The two partners did not put efforts in the project and the project is unsuccessful.

zalisa [80]

Answer:

Company net income will DECREASE by $2,000 if the order is accepted.

Explanation:

Company net income will DECREASE by $2,000 if the order is accepted.

Additional order will produce additional sales revenue of $150 per unit

The marginal cost for this order = Variable costs (Direct material + Direct labour + variable cost) =$152 per unit

Since the marginal cost ($152) is more than the revenue ($150)per unit, there will be a loss of $2 per unit.

So the net income of the company will DECREASE by $2000 ($2x 1000)

Answer:

Opportunity cost

Explanation:

The opportunity cost Bob's brother Joe $20,000. Remember, the term Opportunity cost refers to the cost (loss in this context) incurred when one forgoes an alternative best option–holding them in a brokerage account, in place for a less beneficial one.

Thus, Bob chose the best alternative over his brother.

Wilson has a 40 percent interest in the assets and income of the CC&W Partnership, and the basis in his partnership interest
laila [671]

Answer:

a. $24,000

b. $9,000

Explanation:

a. The amount of income or loss from the partnership is limited to the share of the loss rather than its partnership interest

In the given case, the partnership interest is $45,000 and the share of his loss is $24,000

So, $24,000 is reported in his individual income tax return

b. The computation of the Wilson's basis in his partnership interest is shown below:

= Basis in his partnership interest - share of the loss -  cash distribution received from the partnership

= $45,000 - $24,000 - $12,000

= $9,000
