Students applying to law school must take the LSAT exam. Since competition for acceptance is stiff, many students take a course

that is advertised to boost scores on the LSAT. The agency that teaches the course claims the course is an effective way to raise scores on the LSAT. To test this claim, a group of students are given the LSAT and their scores are recorded. They then attend the course for 5 wecks and retake the exam. Their scores are recorded again. The pre and post test scores are saved here (for Minitab 19) or here (for Minitab 18).
a. Are the samples independent or dependent? Explain.
b. What are the appropriate null and alternative hypotheses for testing the claim that the course is an effective way to raise scores on the LSAT?
c. What Minitab procedure are you going to use to test the hypotheses formulated above?
d. Create the probability plot necessary to validate the procedure chosen above. B C14 C15 non 100 m Ennish finited States)

Answer:

a) Dependent

b) H0: µd = 0

    Ha: µd > 0

c) Stat --> Basic Statistics ----> Paired t. then select samples 1 , 2 to get the required output

d) Not enough data

Step-by-step explanation:

Using values found in MINITAB 19

a) The samples are dependent and this is because the title of the test is the same ( i.e. A group of students given the LSAT )

b) Appropriate hypothesis

H0: µd = 0

Ha: µd > 0

c) The Minitab procedure to be used to test the hypothesis is

click on Stat --> Basic Statistics ----> Paired t. then select samples 1 , 2 to get the required output

d) Not enough data to create a probability plot

9 ft./s into miles per hour
nexus9112 [7]
First multiply 9 by 60 to find feet/minute: 9x60=540. Multiply that answer by 60 to get feet/hour: 540x60=32400. Divide that by 5,280 to get miles/hour: 32400/5280=6.14 roughly :)

Jose left the White House and drove toward the recycling plant at an average speed of 40 km/h. Rob left some time later driving
Aleks04 [339]
Let x represent Jose's drived distance and y represent Rob's.
So what you need to do is to solve the equation:
40x=48*5
40x=240
x=240/40=6

So Jose drove for 6 hours before Rob caught him.
