Cell membrane: controls what goes in or out, it’s like a guard (in all cells)

Cell wall: provides shape and support (only in plant cells)

Nucleus: cell’s control center, largest structure inside the cell, contains deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA)

Lysosomes: small structures that contain chemicals for breaking down food and waste for use or disposal (like a garbage truck)

Vacuoles: large sacs thats stores food and water (like a grocery store)

Endoplasmic reticulum: a maze of passageways that transport materials through the cell, has rough E.R. (has ribosomes) and has smooth E.R. (doesn’t have ribosomes)

Golgi apparatus: organelles that package and distribute proteins throughout the cell

Chloroplasts: green structure that convert the sun’s energy into food (carbohydrates), only found in plant cells
