Answer:

247.5 N

Explanation:

From the question,

The expression of centriputal force is given as

F = mv²/r..................... Equation 1

Where m = mass of the runner, v = velocity of the runner, r = radius of the runner

Given: m = 55 kg, v = 9 m/s, r = 18 m

Substitute these values into equation 1

F = 55(9²)/18

F = 247.5 N.

Hence the centriputal force of the runner is

247.5 N

In the graph above, how does the acceleration at A compare with the acceleration at B?
abruzzese [7]
This is a speed/time graph.
The slope of the graph at each point is the time rate of change of speed
at that point, and THAT's the definition of the magnitude of acceleration.

The slope of the curve is zero at both ' A ' and ' B ', so acceleration is
zero at both of those points.

That seems to be exactly what choice-c says.

You are taking care of two small children, Sarah and Rachel, who are twins. On a nice cool, clear day you decide to take them ro
BlackZzzverrR [31]

Answer:

Explanation:

Rachel and Sarah are standing on horizontal ground . Let T₁ be the tension between Rachel and Sarah and Sarah is in between you.

Force = mass x acceleration

Apply this equation on Rachel

T₁ = 23 x 2 = 46 N

Let T₂ be tension between Sarah and me and it is inclined at 60°

Force = mass x acceleration

Apply this equation on Sarah

T₂ cos 60 - T₁ = 23 X 2 = 46

T₂ cos 60 - 46 =46

T₂ cos 60  = 92

T₂ = 92 / .5

= 184 N

A block is pushed across a rough horizontal surface from point A to point B by a force P. The magnitude of the force of friction
DochEvi [55]

Answer:

The workdone by P is W_p=2.2J

Explanation:

Generally workdone is mathematically represented as

              W = F *d

Where F is the force and d is the distance

  The total workdone = (Workdone by Force P + Workdone by frictional force )

The difference in kinetic energy

                \Delta KE  = KE_2 - KE_1

Substituting 5.6 J for KE_1 and 4.0 J for KE_2

              \Delta KE = 5.6 - 4

                         = 1.6J

This change in kinetic energy of the block = The total kinetic energy

       The workdone by the frictional force is

                  W_F = -F_f * d

the negative sign shown that the force is moving in the opposite direction

substituting 1.2 N for F_f  and 0.5 m for d

               W_F = -1.2*0.5

                     =-0.6J

Making Workdone by Force P the subject in the above equation we

            Workdone by Force P (W_P) = The total workdone(W_T)  - W_F

Substitution values

                    W_p = 1.6 -(-0.6)

                          W_p=2.2J
