A sense of Nationalism began to spread throughout Europe as a result of the Napoleonic Wars.
In short, Nationalism is the belief that people can identify with the interests of their national group and advocate for the creation of a nation to support such interests, and not relying on a King or Empire.
Nationalism was initiated during the French Revolution by radical politicians and intellectuals which, in turn, were influenced by Napoleon and also the Napoleonic Code (the French Civil Code under Napoleon in 1804) after the end of the Napoleonic Wars (1803-1815). In this way, he helped Europe in modernizing its countries through legal reforms.
