Write an essay explaining how modern technology has changed the way people stay informed about current events.
Vlada [557]

Do you ever wonder how people don't always know what is going on? Well to start off, today's technology is more advanced, capturing people's attention much more than before. This is all mainly because of Quality, Effects, and Apps.

First, lets talk about quality. Back in the days in the 1900s people had to watch TV with not much good quality. The people weren't as interested into the TVs back then, but it was the main thing to watch at the time. But since it was the main thing to watch, people would check the news and be informed about events happening a lot. Nowadays we don't check the media for current events because of all the good quality we have on videos, games, unless it pops up and grabs our attention.

Secondly, effects are something that also keeps us from staying informed about current events. When we watch movies, y0utube, and play games, on laptops and phones, we enjoy the effects that are in those because it makes everything seem cool and appealing, which is slowly starting to drive our mindset away from events. For example, in the movies there are lots of actions and moments that require green screens to be used and edited. Back in the day there weren't much effects to use like how much there is now.

Lastly, Apps are the main things that changed us from staying informed about current events. On go0gle play store there's like over 2 million apps on there, and for all ages. BUT, lots of the apps are helpful because there are news apps. On there you can be updates about the current events that are happening, and what you should or can do. There are also educational apps that help us learn. On the other hand, most of the apps are mainly for entertainment and not useful purposes. When we are on apps, we forget about current events and just focus on the app mostly.

In conclusion, The main reasons how modern technology has changed the way people stay informed about current events is because of Quality, Effects, and Apps.

The narrator in Blake's "The Tyger" expresses:
Nimfa-mama [501]

Answer:

The narrator in Blake's "The Tyger" expresses:

D. disturbed awe.

Explanation:

The speaker in William Blake's poem "The Tyger" is in awe of the tiger. He fears and admires the tiger at the same time. The animal's aura is filled with terror and wonder. It was made to kill. Its pace, it gaze, all of it shows how terrible it is. Yet, it was created by God, just like the innocent and harmless lamb. That is what disturbs the speaker the most. How can the same creator come up with such different creatures? One that is a natural murderer, and one that is completely meek? Having that in mind, we can say the narrator in the poem expresses D. disturbed awe.

mafiozo [28]

In this question, the options are missing and there are some incorrect words; here is the complete question:

In the myth that bears his name, Prometheus steals the ability to make  fire from Zeus, the king of the gods, and gives it to humanity. For his  crime, Prometheus is punished for eternity.  In Ernest Hemingway's novel The Old Man and the Sea, a fisherman  struggles for several days to reel in an enormous fish. When he finally

succeeds, sharks eat the fish before the fisherman is able to get it

back to shore.

Which motive is present in both a myth and the modern story?

A. Stealing from the gods

B. Punishment for great deeds

C. The importance of courage

D. Turning against nature

The answer to this question is B. Punishment for great deeds

Explanation:

In both "Prometheus" and " The Old man and the Sea" the main character struggles to achieve a specific purpose or deed. In the case of the myth, the character deed is to steal the ability to make fire; while in the novel the deed is to catch a big fish. Moreover, each of these deeds is followed by a punishment because both Prometheus and the fisherman are penalized after their deed, this includes punishment for eternity in the case of Prometheus and loss of the fish in the case of the fisherman. According to this, the option that describes a common motif (repeated symbol or idea) is B.
