According to the National Sleep Foundation, <em>alcohol affects the quality and quantity of sleep. </em>However, this depends on how much alcohol you usually drink. For people that drink alcohol from time to time, they tend to feel drowsy, and alcohol even help them to fall asleep faster. This is not the case for people that drink too much, because alcohol make them fall asleep faster but it's a low quality time, those people tend to wake up several times during night.

The reasons that why this happens are plenty, but some of them are due to <em>the interruption of circadian rhythm</em>, which is an internal clock that tells the brain about cycles between sleepiness and alertness, the brain will be slower or faster at specific times, because the circadian rhythm tells him to do that. We can see it as the sleep-wake cycle.

So, basically, drinking alcohol so often will ruin the circadian rhythm, making us to wake up during sleeping hours, or falling a sleep during working hours.
