Complete question:

a  cube of iron was heated to 70C and transferred to a beaker containing 100g of water at 20c the final temperature of the water and the iron was 23c what are the heat capacity of iron and water ?

Answer:

The heat capacity of iron which is equal to heat capacity of water is 1254 J.

Explanation:

Given;

initial temperature of the iron, t₁ = 70 °C

mass of water, m₂ = 100 g

initial temperature of water, t₂ = 20 °C

final temperature of the mixture, t = 23 °C

The heat lost by iron =  heat gained by water

Thus, the heat capacity of iron = heat capacity of water

Heat gained by water is given by;

Q = mcΔθ

Q = mc(t - t₂)

where;

c is the specific heat capacity of water = 4.18 J/g°C

Q = (100 )(4.18)(23 - 20)

Q = 1254 J

Therefore, the heat capacity of iron which is equal to heat capacity of water is 1254 J.

a block suspended from a spring. The spring is stretch 0.5 m. If the spring constant is 500 N/m, what is the weight of the block
ANEK [815]

Answer:250N

Explanation:

Spring constant=500N/m

Extension=0.5m

Weight=spring constant x extension

Weight=500 x 0.5

Weight=250

Weight is 250N

Whats the formula of mass? example Density= mass/volume
DochEvi [55]
The formula for mass you can find from the density equation. Multiply the volume by both sides of the equation.

density = mass/volume

volume*density = mass

And there you are :)
