Answer:

When two oppositely charged objects are brought near each other, a force of attraction is produced between the charges and they become attracted to each other.

If the distance between the two charges were to be increased, the force of attraction between the two charges decreases.

Explanation:

According to Coulombs law, the force of attraction or repulsion between two charges is directly proportional to the magnitude of the charges and inversely proportional to the square of distance of separation between the charges.

Also, a fundamental principle of electrostatics states that like charges repel each other whereas unlike charges attract each other.

From these two laws, it can be deduced that a force of attraction will exist between the two oppositely charged objects when they are brought close ti each other. Also, when the distance of separation between the objects is increased, the magnitude of attractive force between them decreases. This decrease is such that if the distance of separation is increased by a factor of say 2, the magnitude of attractive force decreases by a factor of the square of 2 which is 4.

Consider this reaction: 2al(s) + 3 cucl2(aq) → 2alcl3(aq) + 3 cu(s) if the concentration of cucl2 drops from 1.000 m to 0.655 m
kirza4 [7]
The average rate of reaction over a given interval can be calculated by taking the difference of concentration on a particular given reactant, and dividing it by the total time. In this case, (1.00 M - 0.655 M)/30 s = 0.0115 M/s, or 0.0115 mol/L-s, and this is the final rate of reaction.

Assuming complete dissociation, what is the ph of a 4.02 mg/l ba(oh)2 solution?
inessss [21]
Ba(OH)2   dissociate   according  to   the  following  equation
Ba(OH)2---->  Ba 2+  +  2OH-
Moles  of  Ba(OH)2  =  4.02 /171(molar  mass  of  Ba(OH)2 )=  0.0235   moles
by  use  of  mole  ratio  of  Ba(OH)2  to  OH-   which  is 1:2  the  moles  of  OH =  0.0235  x  2=0.047  moles  in  one  liter   =  0.047/1000=  4.7  x10^-5
POh=-  log  (OH-)
that  is   -log (4.7  x10^-5)  =  4.34
Ph=  14  - POH
PH  is  therefore =  14  - 4.34 = 9.66

When 14 cal of heat are added to 12g of a liquid its temperature rises from 10.4 C to 12.7 C. What is the specific heat of the l
Zina [86]

Answer:

0.51 cal/g.°C

Explanation:

Step 1: Given data

  • Added energy in the form of heat (Q): 14 cal
  • Mass of the liquid (m): 12 g
  • Initial temperature: 10.4 °C
  • Final temperature: 12.7 °C

Step 2: Calculate the temperature change

ΔT = 12.7 °C - 10.4 °C = 2.3 °C

Step 3: Calculate the specific heat of the liquid (c)

We will use the following expression.

c = Q / m × ΔT

c = 14 cal / 12 g × 2.3 °C = 0.51 cal/g.°C
