On his twelth birthday,Ben was 4 3/4 feet tall.On his thirteenth birthday,Ben was 5 3/8 feet tall.How much did he grow? Help my mind completely shut down I can't think on anything even if it's easy.

Change the compound fractions to simple fractions to subtract:$5 \frac{3}{8} = \frac{43}{8} \\ 4 \frac{3}{4} = \frac{19}{4}$
$\frac{43}{8} - \frac{19}{4} = \frac{(43*4)-(19*8)}{8*4} = \frac{20}{32} = \frac{5}{8}$

So Ben grew 5/8th of an inch
