Answer: D. 104.5

Step-by-step explanation:

I’d say the answer is D. 104.5 sq units but I’m not very sure because for a triangle it’s area is 1/2*b*h. I did that and I got 104.5 but the thing is, is that there is a part you need to subtract which is what I can’t figure out. I tried doing the area for the little triangle and then subtractinto it from the total but I got an answer that wasn’t an option.

One number is 4 less than 3 times another.their sum is -16. find the smaller
Airida [17]

Answer:

x = -13, y = -3

Step-by-step explanation:

let a number = x; the other = y

x = 3y - 4

x + y = -16

Isolate the y in the second equation. Subtract x from both sides

x (-x) + y = -16 (-x)

y = -16 - x

Plug in -16 - x for y

x = 3(-16 - x) - 4

Simplify. Distribute 3 to all terms within the parenthesis

x = -3x - 48 - 4

x = -3x - 52

Isolate the x. Add 3x to both sides

x (+3x) = -3x (+3x) - 52

4x = -52

Divide 4 from both sides

(4x)/4 = (-52)/4

x = -52/4

x = -13

Plug in -13 for x in one of the equations:

x + y = -16

(-13) + y = -16

Isolate the x. Add 13 to both sides

y - 13 (+13) = -16 (+13)

y = -16 + 13

y = -3

Answers: x = -13, y = -3

vitfil [10]

Answer:

(A)

C_n=3+2n

(B)

C_1_0=23

Step-by-step explanation:

(A)

we are given

C_n_+_1=C_n+2

C_1=5

Firstly, we will find few terms

C_2=C_1+2

C_2=5+2

C_2=7

C_3=C_2+2

C_3=7+2

C_3=9

C_4=C_3+2

C_4=9+2

C_4=11

so, we will get terms as

5, 7 , 9 , 11

we can see that this is arithematic sequence

First term =5

common difference =d=7-5=2

now, we can use nth term formula

C_n=C_1+(n-1)d

now, we can plug values

C_n=5+2(n-1)

C_n=5+2n-2

C_n=3+2n

(B)

we can plug n=10

C_1_0=3+2\times 10

C_1_0=23
