Find the value of x
marin [14]

Answer:

x=14

Step-by-step explanation:

The given triangle is a right triangle, meaning it is a triangle with a right angle, this is indicated by the box around one of the angles. When given a right triangle, one can use the right triangle trigonometric ratios. These ratios describe the relationship between an angle in a right triangle, and the sides in a right triangle. Such ratios are as follows,

sin(\theta)=\frac{opposite}{hypotenuse}\\\\cos(\theta)=\frac{adjacent}{hypotenuse}\\\\tan(\theta)=\frac{opposite}{adjacent}

Bear in mind that the way one names the sides, in the sense of (opposite or adjacent) will change based on the angle one uses to describe the triangle. However, the hypotenuse is the same no matter the angle, as the hypotenuse is the side opposite the right angle.

In this case, one is given one of the angles, and the side opposite the angle. One is asked to find the hypotenuse of the triangle. One can use the sine (sin) ratio to achieve this.

sin(\theta)=\frac{opposite}{hypotenuse}

Substitute,

sin(30)=\frac{7}{x}

Inverse operations,

x=\frac{7}{sin(30)}

Simplify,

x=14

Can someone explain to me how to find the slope of two points? For example, (2,3) (-4, -4)
hjlf
K here you go!!! So, this is the slope formula: m=(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1). We can input the example coordinates given to create: (-4-3)/(-4-2). Then, I can simplify to make -7/-6 or 7/6. You can make it improper or not, up to you or the question. Also, in the part where I inputting the numbers into the formula, it doesn't matter what y-coordinate value or x-coordinate value you use. The slope won't change.

OUICK PLEASE<br><br> Find the equation of the line
snow_lady [41]

Answer:

y = 2x + 4

Step-by-step explanation:

the equation of a line in slope- intercept form is

y = mx + c ( m is the slope and c the y- intercept )

calculate m using the slope formula

m = \frac{y_{2}-y_{1}  }{x_{2}-x_{1}  }

with (x₁, y₁ ) = (- 2, 0) and (x₂, y₂ ) = ( 0, 4) ← 2 points on the line

m = \frac{4-0}{0-(-2)} = \frac{4}{0+2} = \frac{4}{2} = 2

the line crosses the y- axis at (0, 4 ) ⇒ c = 4

y = 2x + 4 ← equation of line
