#1 would be 12 cm as the actual length of the thermos! This is because the scale given is 1:3 right? if you find what number 1 is multiplied by to get 3, you will obviously have 3. then, the given length of the thermos would be multiplied by 3, so it would be 3 x 4, which would be 12!

The Blue Mountain High School Drama Club is selling tickets to their spring musical. Adult tickets are $4 and student tickets ar
Veseljchak [2.6K]

Answer:the number of adult tickets that were sold is 160

the number of students tickets that were sold is $125

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x represent the number of adult tickets that were sold.

Let y represent the number of students tickets that were sold.

A total of 285 tickets are sold. This means that

x + y = 285

Adult tickets are $4 and student tickets are $1. A total of 285 tickets are sold for $765. This mean that

4x + y = 765 - - - - - - - - - - 1

Substituting x = 285 - y into equation 1, it becomes

4(285 - y) + y = 765

1140 - 4y + y = 765

- 4y + y = 765 - 1140

- 3y = - 375

y = - 375/-3 = 125

Substituting y = 125 into x = 285 - y, it becomes

x =285 - 125 = 160 tickets
