If a wave hits a smooth surface at an angle of incidence of 40 degrees, the angle of reflection is

The part of the ear where sound wave compressions and rarefactions cause the eardrum to vibrate is the middle ear. The 8th nerve in the inner ear actually converts the mechanical energy to electrical energy for transmitting to the brain. A membrane called the tympanic membrane separates the middle ear from the outer ear. Whenever a sound reaches the ear, it creates a sound wave that creates vibration in the eardrum. The pressure when high pushes the membrane inwards while low pressure sound waves helps the eardrum to come outwards.

A lightbulb marked "75 W [at] 120 V" is screwed into a socket at one end of a long extension cord, in which each of the two cond
Vedmedyk [2.9K]

Answer:

Part c)

P = 73.8 Watt

Explanation:

Light bulb is marked as 75 W and 120 Volts

so it means that when we apply 120 volts across the bulb then it will consume the total power of 75 W

now when we connected the bulb with the help of conducting wires with some resistance across them then few of its voltage will fall across the wires

due to which the voltage across bulb is less than 120 Volts

So the power given by the bulb is less than 75 W

Part c)

Resistance of the bulb is given as

R = \frac{V^2}{P}

R = \frac{120^2}{75}

R = 192 ohm

now total resistance of the circuit

R_{net} = 192 + 0.8 + 0.8

now current in the circuit

i = \frac{120}{193.6}

i = 0.62 A

so actual power delivered to the bulb is given as

P = i^2 R

P = 0.62^2 \times 192

P = 73.8 Watt

Why does a moving object come to a stop on a frictional surface?
Anuta_ua [19.1K]
Force is simply, an interaction of an object to another by a push or pull. Friction force is when an object wields force by two objects being pressed together; it may also oppose the object’s direction. This force has two types: sliding and static friction. Sliding friction is simply the force exerted when an object slides in a surface. Static friction is when both objects are at rest and an external force affects and creates a motion of one of the objects causing that object to create a motion to the other.
