Before 1900, there are already several states that made their attempts to lessen the working hours of mothers. A movement was created and sought the help of people to help provide for widowed mothers so they could take care of their children. The Mother's Pension Program helped pushed the welfare of mothers and also children who became orphans. The first mother's pension law happened in Illinois last 1911. It was adopted by other States primarily to help the children who were left by their fathers and orphans, and dependent mothers.

Estates General was the common estate of three estates - First estate (clergy), Second estate (nobility) and Third estate ( commoners). Before the Estates General the three estates were rigidly divided and their interests were antagonistic to each other. The absolute monarchy and economic crises brought them under one common platform i.e Estates General. Here they began to shun the separate estates and fought for a common cause. Estates General paved the way for national assembly and ultimately united France under one national identity.
It means exploiting the resources of the conquered country for the benefit of the conqueror. Imperialism means creating an empire, expanding into the neighbouring regions and expanding its dominance far. Colonialism is termed as building and maintaining colonies in one territory by people from another territory.
