Briefly outline the steps involved in glycogen synthesis and breakdown and explain the regulatory mechanism involved in glycogen
Elenna [48]

Answer:

Glycogen is synthesized and degraded by different pathways, which provide greater flexibility for energy production through its degradation or for storage in its synthesis and thus maintain control of both metabolic pathways.

Explanation:

Synthesis and degradation pathways:

1º.- activation of glucose units at UDP-glucose.

UDP-glucose is an activated form of glucose, which is formed in a reaction catalyzed by UDP-glucose, which is formed in a reaction catalyzed by UDP-glucose pyrophosphorylase. This reaction is an example of biosynthetic reactions that are directed by the hydrolysis of pyrophosphate (PPi-2Pi).

Many biosynthetic reactions are directed by the hydrolysis of pyrophosphate, which catalyzes pyrophosphate hydrolase or pyrophosphatase, and is very favorable thermodynamically.

2nd.- polymerization or addition of glucose units to glycogen. Two steps: addition and branching.

UDP-glucose acts as the giver of glucose units for glycogen synthesis. Glucose transfer

from the UDP-glucose to a growing glycogen chain is catalyzed by glycogen synthase.

A branching enzyme [amyl (1,4 -> 1,6) -transglucosidase], moves a chain of about seven glucose residues, to form

bonds (α1-> 6) at the branching points.

To start glycogen synthesis, glycogen synthase is only effective when it is linked to glycogenin. Glycogenin is

an oligosaccharide carrier protein formed by glucose units with linkages (α1-> 4).

1) Research the history of terrariums. Find out who developed the first terrarium. What did this particular scientist want to st
dedylja [7]
1 ) The first terrarium was developed by botanist Nathaniel Bagshaw Ward in 1842. He was interested in studying insect behaviour. Once he accidentally left one of his bug jars open. A fern spore in the jar sprouted, grew and germinated into a new plant. This is how the first terrarium had been created.

2 ) Because of the different conditions within, terrariums there are two, which can be classified as closed and open. Closed terrariums have a lid to enclose the plants entirely within the glass container. Open terrariums do not require a lid.

Sorry working on this right now as well, and I don't have the others yet :(

What is global warming?

The expression global warming makes reference to the sudden increase in temperatures around the world after the industrial revolution.

In this regard, it has been shown that greenhouse gases such as CO2 can increase global warming and human activities may be associated with this process.

In conclusion, in my opinion, humans have influenced climate change because it has been shown that deforestation, industrial activities and urbanization increase the level of greenhouse gases.

Zoning laws establish
Murrr4er [49]

Answer:

The correct option is b) the uses an area of land can be put to

Explanation:

Zoning laws can be described as guidelines which characterize how any municipal area should be divided. Zoning laws are laws which are to be followed to make zones in an area. For example, the making of residential or industrial zones. The type of land or zone determines whether permission should be given to develop the zone or not. Zoning laws determine which area should be ideal to construct what buildings and how a particular zone should be utilized.
