What is the area of this triangle in the coordinate plane? 5 units² 6 units² 7 units² 12 units² A graph with a triangle drawn be
____ [38]

Answer:

6 units²

Step-by-step explanation:

The coordinates (1,1) (1,4) (5,1) form a right triangle as shown in the graph below

The base is is (1,1) and (5,1) so the length is 5-1 or 4 units

The height is (1,1) and (1,4) so the height is 4-1 or 3 units

Area of a triangle is given by

A = 1/2 bh

    = 1/2 (4*3)

    = 1/2 *12

    = 6 units^2

What is a quick way to tell other 8th graders how to tell if an equation will have one solution, no solution, or infinite soluti
atroni [7]

Answer:

if an equation has the same slope and y intercept the equations will have infinite many solutions. If both equations have the same slope but different y intercept the equations will have no solutions. if both equations are positive or negative and have different slopes and different y intercepts then they will most likely have one solution. (example: y=-2x+3 and y= -4x+4, both slopes are negative so there will be one solution, same goes for if both slopes are positive.

Hope this helps!

Which equation represents a circle with centerT(5,-1) and a radius of 16 units?
Tatiana [17]

Answer: (x-5)^2+(y+1)^2=r^2

Step-by-step explanation:

The area of a circle having radius r and center (h,k) is given by :-

(x-h)^2+(y-k)^2=r^2   (i)

We have given that, Center of the Circle = T ( 5,-1)

Radius = 16 units

Substitute these values in (i) , we get

(x-5)^2+(y-(-1))^2=(16)^2\\\\\Rightarrow\ (x-5)^2+(y+1)^2=256

Hence, the equation represents a circle with centerT(5,-1) and a radius of 16 units would be (x-5)^2+(y+1)^2=256.
