Answer and explanation:

The cell membrane has a major role in achieving homeostasis, that being as follows: The cell membrane has two layers that do not allow the transfer of water and ions. This makes possible the fact that cells concentrate more sodium ions outside the cell. The cell membrane also performs the task of pumping water in and out, thus affecting the concentration of the cytosol. To conclude, thanks to the cell membrane, cells can adjust to changing temperatures.

3. The Presidential election years of
olchik [2.2K]

Answer:

The correct answer is Option C: 1888 and 2000.

Explanation:

In the year 2000, the presidential election was between Al Gore and George W. Bush. Despite Gore receiving 543,895 more votes in the popular vote, by the terms of the electoral college, Bush won with a vote of 271 to 266.  Many third-party candidates also ran in this election like Ralph Nader. The results of the Bush-Gore election were controversial because of a very close vote in Florida. Bush had a narrow margin of 537 votes in the Sunshine State, which made a recount mandatory. In 1888, the presidential race was between Grover Cleveland and Benjamin Harrison. Although Cleveland received 90,596 more votes than Harrison, Cleveland lost with only 168 votes in the electoral college. Harrison won 233 in the electoral college.
