Answer: Paleolithic or Old Stone Age: BEGAN - from the first production of stone artifacts, about 2.5 million years ago,

ENDED- of the last Ice Age, about 9,600 BCE. This is the longest Stone Age period.

Achievements - Developed increasingly complex tools and objects made of stone and natural fibers. Language, art, scientific inquiry, and spiritual life were some of the most important innovations of the Paleolithic era.

Neolithic - division lasted (in that part of the world) until the transitional period of the Chalcolithic from about 6,500 years ago (4500 BC), marked by the development of metallurgy, leading up to the Bronze Age and Iron Age. In other places the Neolithic lasted longer.

Achievements - Neolithic period is significant for its megalithic architecture, the spread of agricultural practices, and the use of polished stone tools.
