A set of genes whose transcription is regulated by an operator gene is called a(n) _______.
shepuryov [24]
The answer is operon. These set of genes are transcribed together because they share a single promoter and operator. Therefore they are transcribed into one mRNA and translated together. These genes are, therefore, expressed together at all times. Examples are the tryptophan and lac operons of Escherichia coli

The process by which cells are drawn or attracted to an area by a microbe invader is known as ________.
Alexxx [7]

Answer:

chemotaxis

Explanation:

Chemotaxis is movement of the organism in the response to the chemical stimulus.

Bacteria, somatic cells and single-cell as well as multicellular organisms direct movements of their body according to some chemicals in the environment. This is very important for the bacteria to find the food by swimming toward highest concentration of the food molecules or also to flee from the poisons.

Thus, it is a process by which various cells are drawn to the target area by a microbe invader.

What happens to the water in a poolon a hot, sunny day ?
Keith_Richards [23]

Answer:

I'm assuming you meant pool instead of poolon, i'll take it as a grammatical error. Anyhow, the water in a pool on sunny days tend to have less chlorination then on regular days. This is because chlorine forms hypochlorite ions in the water, and these are broken down by the ultraviolet light from the sun. Rainy or shiny, the weather is always affecting the chemistry in your pool.

Now, if you want to get more complicated into it, you can add a stabilizer into the pool. The common one safely used in pools is cyanuric acid. This almost completley prevents all de-chloronification.

I hope this information was of any use to you.
