The answer is A. detritus.

Detritus typically includes the bodies or fragments of bodies of dead organisms, and fecal material. Detritus typically hosts communities of microorganisms that colonize and decompose (i.e. remineralize) it. In terrestrial ecosystems it is present as leaf litter and other organic matter that is intermixed with soil, which is denominated "soil organic matter".

Scientists used major changes in life forms in the fossil records to form the geologic time scale
mina [271]

Answer:

Geologists have sorted earth’s history into different geologic time scale. They just clubbed it into time scales by observing the major changes in the life forms that existed on the earth. Inferring to the fossils found in rocks the time scale was calculated.

First era single cell animals were formed then formed the complex animals. Then Mesozoic era where it is known as the era of dinosaurs. Then the evolution of different species of life during Cenozoic era. These major changes found through fossils helped them to form the GTS.

How can a bat's wing be considered both a homologous structure and an analogous structure
ivolga24 [154]
For example, insects use wings to fly like bats and birds, but the wing structure and embryonic origin is completely different. These are called analogous structures... Some structures are both analogous and homologous: the wings of a bird and the wings of a bat are both homologous and analogous.

Hope that helped!!

Please explain to me about the patterns of inheritance in science. Thank you so much ;)))
Reil [10]
Gregor Mendel started experiments on inheritance in the 19. century. The basis of inheritance patterns is the fact that diploid cells contain two copies of the genome and that a gene has different variants, called alleles.Alleles can be dominant (for example, marked A) and recessive (for example, marked a). In a gene locus (position of a gene) there are only two alleles, one from the mother and the other from the father. If individuals have two copies of the same allele they are homozygous (AA (dominant homozygous) or aa (recessive homozygous)). If individuals have two different alleles they are heterozygous (Aa).In autosomal dominant traits, the phenotype is present if both copies of the dominant allele (A) are present (homozygous individuals AA) or only one copy of the dominant allele is present (heterozygous individuals Aa).In autosomal recessive traits, the phenotype is present if both copies of the recessive allele (a) are present (homozygous individuals aa). This is complicated in sex-linked trait, because there are two X cromosomes in females and one X chromosome and one Y chromosomes in males, so terms dominant and recessive are not reliable. It should also be taken into consideration that many traits are complex and caused by many genes interaction and/or environment conditions.
