In the context of this passage, how do people face death? Cite evidence from this text, your own experience, and other literatur
ValentinkaMS [17]

Answer:

Emily is clearly linked to a monument--a symbol of death--in this passage. Many people think of tributes to the dead or to fallen heroes when they think of monuments. Monuments are found in many cemeteries, often to remember the famous or dead who are buried there. Faulkner connects Emily to a '' fallen monument'', to reinforce the theme of decay, a reminder that all things will fall to ruin. Monuments will crumble, societies will falter, and Emily and the other townspeople will die.

Explanation:

Symbols of death are as pervasive as the fine dust that coats Miss Emily's house in this short story. The dust covers everything in Emily's house, and the men who go there to attempt to collect Emily's taxes notice that the hallway ''smelled of dust and disuse.'' When they are seated in the parlor, ''a faint dust rose sluggishly about their thighs, spinning with slow motes in the single sun-ray.''

Dust coats everything in the secret room where Emily's horrifying secret is revealed and the townspeople learn that she has killed Homer Barron, her boyfriend, and kept his body. After Emily's neighbors break down the door of the secret room, they are shocked to see that ''What was left of him, rotted beneath what was left of the nightshirt, had become inextricable from the bed in which he lay; and upon him and upon the pillow beside him lay that even coating of the patient and biding dust.''

Read the excerpt below and then select one prompt. You will choose to write either a narrative essay or an informational respons
Drupady [299]

The above question wants to analyze your writing ability, in addition to wanting to read a personal account written by you. For that reason, I can't write this essay for you, but I'll show you how to write it.

First, you must know that a narrative essay is a text where you tell a story, in this case, you need to tell a story about yourself, about a memory from your childhood.

Based on this, you should write your essay as follows:

  • Introduction: Present the memory you will present, giving basic information about it.

  • Body: Write down paragraphs, showing how this memory happened, show the event it represents, what you did in that event, what you felt, what you visualized, and all the necessary details for your reader to have a lot of information about this memory.

  • Conclusion: Show how this memory was important and represents a special moment.

1. True or False: Central idea and theme are synonymous.
Anna007 [38]
True! The both talk about the overall moral of the story.

For an example

THEME Central
Jealousy. Mya always wanted the same
thing Layla had.
Hard work pays
Off. Tyianna worked for hours to
earn money.

Bravery||||Even though Tim was afriad Of heights he still climbed up the mountain.

So basically a theme is telling you something all in one word and a central idea is giving you details.

Hopes this helps.
