Given:

The length of the rectangle is:

l=x^2-x+3

The width of the rectangle is:

w=4x+1

To find:

The area of the given rectangle in the simplest form.

Solution:

We know that, the area of a rectangle is:

A=l\times w

Where, l is the length and w is the width of the rectangle.

Using the above formula, the area of the given rectangle is:

A=(x^2-x+3)\times (4x+1)

A=x^2(4x)+x^2(1)-x(4x)-x(1)+3(4x)+3(1)

A=4x^3+x^2-4x^2-x+12x+3

A=4x^3-3x^2+11x+3

Therefore, the area of the given rectangle is (4x^3-3x^2+11x+3) sq. units.

For which equation is g = 0 not the solution?
Shalnov [3]

Answer:

3g = 30

Step-by-step explanation:

Well, lets check each one to see if any leaves g = 0

12g = 0      (Given)

÷12   ÷12    (Get "g" on its own)

g = 0          (0 ÷ 12 = 0)

We know it is not this one since g = 0

3g = 30    (Given)

÷3     ÷3    (Get "g" on its own)

g = 10       (30 ÷ 3 = 10)

This is our answer since g = 10 in this equation, and not g = 0 we know that this is our equation.

Just in case, I will do the other options just not as in-depth!

g + 8 = 8

    -8    -8

g = 0

9g = 0

÷9    ÷9

g = 0

Hope this Helps! :)

Kendra is determining the distance between the points (6, 8) and (2, –3). Her work is shown below.
Sergeeva-Olga [200]
The x-coordinates need to be subtracted and the y-coordinates need to be subtracted.

The x-coordinates are 6 and 2.
Their subtraction is 6 - 2.
Kendra did this correctly.

The y-coordinates are 8 and -3.
Their subtraction is 8 - (-3) = 8 + 3 = 11.
Kendra did this incorrectly. She should have had 8 - (-3) = 8 + 3 = 11.
Then she'd square 11.
Instead, she subtracted 8 and -3 incorrectly and got 8 - 3 = 5.
Then she squared 5 when she should have squared 11.

eliminate y's
3 times 2=6

multiply first equation by 2 and 2nd by 3 and add

16x-6y=-32
15x+6y=-123 +
31x+0y=155

31x=155
divide both sides by 31
x=5
sub back

5x+2y=-41
5(5)+2y=-41
25+2y=-41
minus 25 both sides
2y=-66
divide by 2
y=-33
