Answer:

1. Massachusetts, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia voted for the Virginia Plan, while New York, New Jersey, and Delaware voted for the New Jersey Plan, an alternate that was also on the table. The delegates from Maryland were split, so the state's vote was null.

2. The New Jersey Plan (also known as the Small State Plan or the Paterson Plan) was a proposal for the structure of the United States Government presented by William Paterson at the Constitutional Convention on June 15, 1787.[1] The plan was created in response to the Virginia Plan, which called for two houses of Congress, both elected with apportionment according to population.[2] The less populous states were adamantly opposed to giving most of the control of the national government to the more populous states, and so proposed an alternative plan that would have kept the one-vote-per-state representation under one legislative body from the Articles of Confederation.

3. Roger Sherman and Oliver Ellsworth, both of the Connecticut delegation, created a compromise that, in a sense, blended the Virginia (large-state) and New Jersey (small-state) proposals regarding congressional apportionment.

What role do small claims courts play in the legal system?
vaieri [72.5K]
It's the practical-ish solution for individuals seeking monetary remedies too low in proportion to attorney fees, and requiring more legally binding enforcement measures than those provided by mediation/arbitration. The ish suffix indicates that it's not the democratized "people's court" that everyone thinks it is... We've found that it's not very useful for low-income, immigrant or shy folks which either don't feel confident enough, or are so ensnared by the legal system that they never think small claims court a viable solution for their problems.
<span>It also plays a great entertainment role, apparently, given the popularity of daytime shows such as that of the assertive Mrs. Judge Judy.</span>

In "The Open Window", how does the description of Vera as self-possessed contribute to the reader's understanding of her charact
TEA [102]

Answer:

A. The reader learns that she is confident and composed which makes her appear credible.

Explanation:

Saki's short story "The Open Window" is about a character named Framton Nuttel who had gone to his new neighbor's house to be introduced. And while waiting for the lady of the house, he was told a rather ghastly story by the niece Vera, which was in fact, just a lie.

Through her narration of how her aunt keeps the window open in anticipation of the arrival of her husband and brothers from their hunting, Vera managed to 'horrify' Framton. So, when the hunting party arrived, Framton dashed out of the house, which Mrs. Sappleton admits <em>"One would think he had seen a ghost"</em>. And Vera's declaration of how it must have been the spaniel that led Mr. Framton rushing out of the house shows how self-possessed she is and also contributes to the reader's understanding of her character.  She finds joy in the scene and seems to be enjoying it. And <u>her confident and composed nature at the scene shows her self-possessed nature.</u>

Thus, the correct answer is option A.
