Question is not very clear, however answers will reflect numbers seen(with some assumptions since some questions are not entirely complete)

Answer and explanation:

1. If a rectangle has an area of 35 meters and width of 78 meters, what is the length

Given that area of rectangle is length *width

Let's call length x

We have the equation

78*x=35

78x=35/78

x= 0.449

Therefore length =0.449 meters

2. Greg wants to divide a 712 yard long ribbon into pieces of 14 yard long each.

How many pieces can he make?

Let's assume the ribbon is a square then it's area is 712*712= 506944

To find number of 14 yard long pieces from the 712 yard long ribbon, we first find area for 14 yard long ribbons= 14*14= 196

number of 14 yard long pieces from the 712 yard long ribbon= 506944/196

= 2586.449 pieces

3. Olivia has 23 minutes an hour to write thank you notes. It takes her 12 minutes of an hour per thank you note. How many can she write?

Since it takes Olivia 12 minutes to write thank you notes but she has 23 minutes to write one, in one hour(1 hour =60minutes) she would be able to write

60 minutes /12 minutes = 5 thank you notes instead of

60 minutes /23 minutes= 2.609 or 2 thank you notes

4. Jim has 14 cups of nuts. How much of the recipe can he make?

If recipe requires 7 cups of nuts for instance, Jim would be able to make 14/7 = 2 of the recipe

The mayor of a town has proposed a plan for the construction of an adjoining bridge. A political study took a sample of 900 vote
Likurg_2 [28]

Answer:

Test statistic z = 2.3839.

P-value = 0.0086.

At a signficance level of 0.05, there is enough evidence to support the claim that the percentage of residents who favor construction is above 56%.

Step-by-step explanation:

This is a hypothesis test for a proportion.

The claim is that the percentage of residents who favor construction is above 56%.

Then, the null and alternative hypothesis are:

H_0: \pi=0.56\\\\H_a:\pi>0.56

The significance level is 0.05.

The sample has a size n=900.

The sample proportion is p=0.6.

The standard error of the proportion is:

\sigma_p=\sqrt{\dfrac{\pi(1-\pi)}{n}}=\sqrt{\dfrac{0.56*0.44}{900}}\\\\\\ \sigma_p=\sqrt{0.000274}=0.017

Then, we can calculate the z-statistic as:

z=\dfrac{p-\pi-0.5/n}{\sigma_p}=\dfrac{0.6-0.56-0.5/900}{0.017}=\dfrac{0.039}{0.017}=2.3839

This test is a right-tailed test, so the P-value for this test is calculated as:

\text{P-value}=P(z>2.3839)=0.0086

As the P-value (0.0086) is smaller than the significance level (0.05), the effect is  significant.

The null hypothesis is rejected.

There is enough evidence to support the claim that the percentage of residents who favor construction is above 56%.

Evaluate 3 over 2y-3 + 5 over 3z when y=6 and z=3.
anastassius [24]

Answer:

\frac{8}{9}Step-by-step explanation:[tex]\frac{3}{2y-3}  + \frac{5}{3z}    y = 6, z = 3

Substitute values into the expression:

\frac{3}{2(6)-3}  + \frac{5}{3(3)}

Simplify both fractions:

\frac{3}{9}  + \frac{5}{9}

Add the fractions:

[tex]\frac{8}{9}
