Allogeneic Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation for Adult Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in the Modern Era
Roman55 [17]

Allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplant is procedure in which a patient receives healthy blood-forming cells (stem cells) from a donor to replace their own stem cells that have been destroyed by treatment with radiation or high doses of chemotherapy.

An allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplant uses a donor's bone marrow or blood. The donor is usually a relative of the patient, although unrelated donors or umbilical cord blood are sometimes used.

Allogeneic stem cell transplantation involves transferring the stem cells from a healthy person (the donor) to the patient's body after high-intensity chemotherapy or radiation. The donated stem cells can come from either a related or an unrelated donor.

1 Point
____ [38]

During Prophase chromosomes condense, and mitotic spindle form, chromosomes are copied, and the nuclear membrane disappears, spindle fibres pull the sister chromatids apart.

Explanation:

Prophase is divided into 2 sub-phases as early Prophase and late prophase.

Early Prophase:

In early prophase distinct thick chromosome like structures, Centrioles move to the opposite poles and, nuclear membrane disappears

By late prophase:

Astral rays and spindle fibres are formed. Spindle fibres attach to the chromosome. Contractions occur in the attachment and sister chromatids are pull apart towards the equator.

Metaphase will follow the prophase.

Why does coomassie brilliant blue r interact differently with different proteins?
alexandr1967 [171]
Dimethyl sulfoxide was found to be effective for extraction of Coomassie Brilliant Blue R-250 (Coomassie R) from stained proteins on polyacrylamide gel slices. A good correlation was found between the ability of different proteins to bind Coomassie R and their capacity for interaction with Coomassie Brilliant Blue G-250 (Coomassie G) in solution. Scatchard analysis showed that the number of Coomassie R ligands bound to each protein molecule is approximately proportional to the number of positive charges on the protein, about 1.5-3 dye.
