how to do this??? i would appreciate if you could answer the actual answer for the first one and explain how to do the process.
Hoochie [10]
For the first problem, a "fifth" means divided by 5, so "four-fifths of b" means (b/5)*4 or 4b/5

Subtract means to take away, so "6 subtracted from" means to "take away 6" or -6

As such, the answer to the problem would be 4b/6

The rest the problems are also just translating English to math.

A baseball stadium holds 15,002 seats. The lower level has 50 fewer than three times as many seats as the upper level. The middl
deff fn [24]

Let Upper Level = x

Middle level = 2x+40

Lower level = 3x-50

The sum of those 3 has to equal 15,002 seats.

X + (2x+40) + 3x-50) = 15, 002

Simplify the left side by combining the like terms:

6x - 10 = 15,002

Add 10 to each side:

6x = 15,012

Divide both sides by 6 to solve for x:

X = 15012 / 6

X = 2502

The upper level is X , so has 2,502 seats.

Middle level = 2x +40 = 2(2502) +b40 = 5004 + 40 = 5,044 seats

Lower level = 3x-50 = 3(2502) -50 = 7506 - 50 = 7,456 seats

What is f(5) if f(1)=3.2 and f(x+1)=5/2 ?
Bond [772]

Answer:

Solution is given below

Step-by-step explanation:

f(x+1) = 2.5f(x) is an example of a recursion formula

 Use what we know about f(1) to find f(2).  Then use f(2) to find f(3), etc.

 f(1) = 3.2

 f(2) = f(1+1) = 2.5f(1) = 2.5(3.2) = 8

 f(3) = f(2+1) = 2.5f(2) = 2.5(8) = 20

 f(4) = f(3+1) = 2.5f(3) = 2.5(20) = 50

 f(5) = f(4+1) = 2.5f(4) = 2.5(50) = 125

and for  f(x+1)=5/2

f(x + 1) = (5/2)(f(x))

 f(1 + 1) = (5/2)(3.2)

 f(2) = 8

Use special right triangle ratios to find the length of the hypotenuse.<br> 45 45 11
katrin [286]

Answer:

11 √2

Step-by-step explanation:

The kind of triangle we have here is the 45 triangle

In this kind of triangle, the adjacent and the opposite are the same

The ratio of the sides are;

1:1: √2

The root represents the length of the hypotenuse

so the length is 11 multiplied by √2 = 11 √2
