Cuban Missile Crisis <br> How close was the convoy to the blockade on that fateful day?
Andrej [43]

The Cuban Missile Crisis was a confrontation between the United States and the Soviet Union during October 1962. The crisis began when the US government deployed missiles in Italy and Turkey. As a response, the Soviet Union deployed missiles in Cuba.

After confirming the installation of missiles in Cuba by the Soviet Union, the United States executed a naval blockade that would prevent further deployment of missiles to the island. Negotiations were put into place in order to assure that the missiles deployed in Cuba would be dismantled. However, after confirmation by the US that there was still activity around the missiles, negotiations came to a stalemate on October 26, 1962. At this point, President Kennedy ordered a strike on the Soviet Union, as well as the invasion of Cuba. However, the Soviet Union responded by turning back 14 ships which were presumably transporting weapons to the island.

alexdok [17]

The Battle of Bunker Hill. Then the correct answer is "The british army forced the americans to retreat, but sustained heavy losses at The Battle of Bunker Hill".

The british initially estimated that the conflict would be relatively straightforward since they outnumbered the colonists and they perceived the inexperienced militias to be inferior in combat. Despite their drawbacks, the americans inflicted heavy losses and, even though they secured territorial gains, the British lost a third of their men in this battle.

What issue in a political party’s platform would someone who believes strongly in laissez-faire capitalism MOST LIKELY support?
ladessa [460]

Answer:

C) conducting free trade

Explanation:

The other options are contrary to Laissez-faire capitalism. Tariffs penalize trade and protect certain industries. Laissez-faire capitalists think Unions constitute an obstacle to the direct negotiation of wages between employers and employees. A basic income would come from taxation, and it will undermine the employers' ability to negotiate wages as employees would no be in the immediate need to take any job available.
