Answer:

A: I believe this quote, "Promote what you love instead of bashing what you hate" means to instead of wasting time dissing the things/people that you don't particulary get along with, you should spread the word about the things/people you do enjoy being with, and let others enjoy what you enjoy everyday.

B: Promote: To support/encourage a cause, venture, or claim.

Bash: To shame/make heavy blows at something.

I would say held because vague means that you aren't certain about what you're doing and the other words describe to hold onto something for dear life so I would go with held...if that's helpful to you.

melisa1 [442]

Answer:

Based on word choice, Giblin feels:

B. that it was worthwhile.

Explanation:

We can easily eliminate options A and C, since there is nothing conveying a negative connotation in the excerpt. We are left with options B and D.

Let's take a look at option D first. It says Giblin thinks the process of obtaining copies of the stone was amazing. However, that is not what the word choice conveys. Had there been words such as "fantastic" or "incredible" in the excerpt, this option would have made sense. But that is not the case.

Option B is the only correct one. The excerpt uses words such as "fortunately", "good", and "clear". Those words convey the idea that the process the French used was worthwhile. It not only worked, but worked well, effectively.
