The National Diet differs from the United States Congress in that it is Japan's bicameral legislature. The House of Representatives and the Senate make up the United States Congress, which is a bicameral legislature of the federal government of the United States. Both the National DIet and the United States Congress are made up of a lower chamber called the House of Representatives.
