Wesley is traveling from California to Utah. His trip covers a distance of 673.1 miles. For the first 3 hours, he travels at an

average speed of 67.2 miles per hour. For the next 2 hours, he travels at an average speed of 69.5 miles per hour.
Wesley must travel miles farther before he reaches his destination. If Wesley travels at a fixed speed of 66.5 miles per hour during the final leg of the trip, it will take him another hours to get there.

A pilot can fly 2100 miles with the wind in the same time she can fly 1890 miles against the wind. If the speed of the wind is 2
Anna007 [38]

Answer:

475 mph

Step-by-step explanation:

Distance = rate × time

time = distance / rate

If x is the speed of the plane in still air:

2100 / (x + 25) = 1890 / (x − 25)

Cross multiply:

2100 (x − 25) = 1890 (x + 25)

Distribute and solve:

2100x − 52500 = 1890x + 47250

210x = 99750

x = 475

FrozenT [24]

Answer:

\frac{48+5j}{j}

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>Complete Question:</u>

Angela shared a cab with her friends . When they arrived at their destination, they evenly divided the $48 fare among "j" of them . Angela gave the cab $5 tip. How much did Angela pay in total?

<u>Solution:</u>

The fare was $48 and including Angela, there were j people, so each paid:

48/j

Also, Angela paid $5 additionally.

So, Angela paid:

48/j  ---  when dividing evenly

5  ---   as a tip

Total Angela Paid:  =\frac{48}{j}+5\\=\frac{48+5j}{j}

Total Payment:  \frac{48+5j}{j}
