Describe Jackson’s use of the “Spoils System” and his “Kitchen Cabinet.” Provide a modern-day example of this practice.
satela [25.4K]

Answer:

The “Spoils System” and his “Kitchen Cabinet” were the terms related to the presidential administration of  Andrew Jackson.

Explanation:

Andrew Jackson took the office of the President of the United States in March 1829.  He was eager to reform the form in which the federal government worked. By nature, Jackson was very skeptical of his political adversaries. While Jackson thought there were many federal government employees who were opposed to them, he became enraged. His alternative was to develop an official system for removing people from federal positions and replacing them with employees who were deemed loyal to his regime and this was termed as Spoil system. The 'Kitchen Cabinet' has been the label given to President Jackson's nearby, unofficial advisors by his opponents. In the present scenario, nobody is amazed that the supporters of winning the candidate's opponents took the heaviest knocks, and the rewarding side consists of his own loyalists.
