A rational expression is a ratio of two polynomials. To add or subtract two rational expressions with the same denominator, we simply add or subtract the numerators and write the result over the common denominator. When the denominators are not the same, we must manipulate them so that they become the same.

Answer:

\sf =  >  \frac{d}{dx} ( {2x}^{2}  - 4x + 1)

\sf =  >  \frac{d}{dx} ( {2x}^{2} ) +\frac{d}{dx} ( - 4x) +  \frac{d}{dx} (1)

\sf =  > 2\frac{d}{dx} ( {x}^{2} ) + \frac{d}{dx} ( - 4x) + \frac{d}{dx} (1)

\sf=  > 2(2x) + \frac{d}{dx} ( - 4x) + \frac{d}{dx} (1)

\sf \:  =  > 4x + \frac{d}{dx} ( - 4x) + \frac{d}{dx} (1)

\sf \:  =  > 4x - 4\frac{d}{dx} (x) + \frac{d}{dx} (1)

\sf =  > 4x - 4 \times 1 + \frac{d}{dx} (1)

\sf \:  =  > 4x - 4 + 0

\sf =  > 4x - 4

Assume that blood pressure readings are normally distributed with a mean of 123 and a standard deviation of 9.6. If 144 people a
Vanyuwa [196]

Answer:

The probability is 0.9938

Step-by-step explanation:

In this question, we are asked to calculate the probability that the mean blood pressure readings of a group of people is less than a certain reading.

To calculate this, we use the z score.

Mathematically;

z = (mean - value)/(standard deviation/√N)

From the question, we can identify that the mean is 125, the value is 123 , the standard deviation is 9.6 and N ( total population is 144)

Let’s plug these values;

z = (125-123)/(9.6/√144) = 2.5

Now we proceed to calculate the probability with a s score less than 2.5 using statistical tables

P(z<2.5) = 0.9938

An ant crawls 11 feet in 9 minutes. How far can it crawl in 27 minutes and in 36 minutes? Enter your answers.
Levart [38]

Answer:

33, 44

Step-by-step explanation:

11 feet in 9 minutes

27 minutes is 3 times as long as 9 minutes, meaning it would be 3 times as more feet. it would crawl 33 feet in 27 minutes.

36 minutes is 4 times as long as 9 minutes, meaning it would be 4 times as more feet. It would crawl 44 feet in 36 minutes.
