Answer: The correct answer is silent mutation . In this type of mutation there is no change in  the phenotype of the individual which means there occurs a mutation where two different amino acid codes for the same protein .There are sequences present in the body where a point mutation occurs but the protein formed is still the same .If you will see the genotype you can easily observe that the amino acid sequence is different but the protein formed is same. Example AAA codes for lysine and the amino acid lysine is formed by AAG .

Why does DNA replication have such accuracy ?
USPshnik [31]
Because human DNA is so very long (with up to 80 million base pairs in a chromosome) it unzips at multiple places along its length so that the replication process is going on simultaneously and more accurately.

Which of the following best explains what would happen if there were no autotrophs in an ecosystem? (1 point) They are the first
kogti [31]

Answer:

They are the first trophic level in an ecosystem and without them the rest of the organisms in the ecosystem would have no source of energy

Explanation:

The autotrophs are the producers in the ecosystem. They manage to produce food for themselves, and they represent the first trophic level, thus they are the basis of any ecosystem. These organisms are the once that produce the energy, and the organisms in the trophic levels above them use their energy to survive. If the autotrophs are removed from and ecosystem, the ecosystem will collapse, as there will be no source of energy for the organisms in the trophic levels above, thus all of them will die out quickly.

When muscle tissue dies, it usually is replaced with dense collagenous connective tissue. How do these tissues differ in structu
Korolek [52]

Answer:

Damaged muscle tissue is replaced by fibrous scar tissue. This is called as 'Fibrosis'. Thicker than the surrounding tissue, scar tissue is paler and denser because it has a limited blood supply; although it takes the place of damaged or destroyed tissue, it is limited in function, including movement, circulation, and sensation.

Dense irregular connective tissue contains fibroblasts scattered amongst randomly oriented collagen fibers, whereas muscular tissues contain multinucleated muscle cells that are able to contract upon stimulation. Because the connective tissue cells cannot contract, the muscle will lose strength, and so muscle function will become impaired.
