Solve for each equation 3 1/4 = 1/2 + w
Amiraneli [1.4K]

Answer:

w = - \frac{58}{31}

Step-by-step explanation:

3 1/4 = 1/2 + w

Cross Multiply

31(2 + w) = 4

Divide both sides by 31

\frac{31(2 + w)}{31} = \frac{4}{31} (simplify) -> 2 + w = \frac{4}{31}

Subtract 2 from both sides

2 + w - 2 + \frac{4}{31} - 2 (simplify) -> - \frac{58}{31}

w = - \frac{58}{31}

How do i find the solution or can you help me find it please
Verizon [17]

remember, you can do anything to an equation as long as you do it to both sides

we can do a subsitution

y=x+6

y=-7x-10

since y=x+6, we can subsitute x+6 for y in the other equation

y=-7x-10

x+6=-7x-10

add 7x to both sides

8x+6=-10

minus 6 from both sides

8x=-16

divide both sides by 8

x=-16/8=-2

the valu eof x that satisfies both equations is x=-2

The Willis Tower (formerly known as the Sears Tower) in Chicago is about 1454 feet tall . A model of it has a scale of 2 in = 45
Phoenix [80]

1. Let's review the information given to us to answer the question correctly:

Height of the Willis Tower in Chicago = 1,454 feet

Scale of the model = 2 inches : 45 feet height

2. How tall is the height?

For answering that question, we will use the following expression:

Height of the model = Height of the Willis Tower in Chicago/Scale in feet * Scale in inches

Replacing with the real values, we have:

Height of the model = 1,454/45 *2

Height of the model = 32.31 * 2 = 64.62 inches

64.62 inches/12 = 5.39 feet

The model is 64.62 inches of height or 5.39 feet
