Hello, could you please explain this to me?
Viefleur [7K]

Find the value of r(q(4)), so first you need to find the value of q(4).

q(4), this means that x = 4, so substitute/plug it into the equation to find the value of q(x) when x = 4:

q(x) = -2x - 1 Plug in 4 into "x" since x = 4

q(4) = -2(4) - 1

q(4) = -8 - 1

q(4) = -9

Now that you know the value of q(4), you can find the value of r(x) when x = q(4)

r(x) = 2x² + 1

r(q(4)) = 2(q(4))² + 1 Plug in -9 into "q(4)" since q(4) = -9

r(q(4)) = 2(-9)² + 1

r(q(4)) = 2(81) + 1

r(q(4)) = 163 163 is the value of r(q(4))

How would I set up this problem?
Sliva [168]
Since in 1990 there are 28%, we need to figure out when it gets to 31%. In addition, since it increases by 0.6% every year, we can say that 0.6x+28 (since 28 is the base value) is the percentage of babies born in wedlock every year. Therefore, to get 0.6x+28=31, we subtract 28 from both sides to get 0.6x=3
Dividing both sides by 0.6, we get x=5=the amount of years it takes to get 31% of babies born in wedlock. Since 1990 is the base value (we start from there!), we add 5 to that to get 1990+5=1995 as the yar

Can you solve this:
JUST number 7 and 8
Thanks everyone
kaheart [24]
For number 7 because 9 is the number of small triangle and 99 is for the bigger one so you can say 9 * 11 = 99 so 10 * 11 = 110 = x
and for number 8 because the small triangle has the same sides so the bigger one should have too so x = 100 :)))
hope this is helpful

Harrizon [31]

the highest batting average is of Ed's and that is 0.350 .

Step-by-step explanation:

Here we have , Make, Dan, Ed, and summer played together on a baseball team. Mike’s batting average was 0.349, dan’s was 0.2, Ed’s was 0.35, and sy’swas 0.299. We need to find Who had the highest batting average . Let's find out :

According to question we have following parameters as :

Mike = 0.349\\Dan's=0.200\\Ed's=0.350\\Sy'swas=0.299

Arranging these data from decreasing to increasing order we get :

⇒ 0.200

⇒ (Dan's)0.200

Therefore , the highest batting average is of Ed's and that is 0.350 .
