Answer:

7. D. Escalate.

8. A. Credibility Gap.

Explanation:

The Gulf of Tonkin incident was a perceived unprovoked attack on the U.S. Navy destroyers, Maddox and Turner Joy which gave President Johnson the justification he needed to escalate the Vietnam war, which he did after presenting the incident to Congress.

During President Johnson's presidency, there developed a discrepancy between what the government said in public statements and what they actually did as was reported by several media houses. This led to the coining of the term, the Credibility Gap.

What is the danger of populism
kirill115 [55]

The danger of populism is that populist governments claim to do everything in the interests of the majority but they see the rights of the citizens as an obstacle for their goals, based in their beliefs. Some of these dangers might arise as racism and intolerance against immigrants.

Which statement best describes characterizes the idea of John locke
umka2103 [35]
John Locke created Natural Rights/Law
he believed each man and women were equal and born with natural rights. These rights include life, liberty, and property (pursuit of happiness). This also follows up to social contract. We give up a little freedom to be protected by the government. His idea influnced the declaration of independence ( D.O.I).
Also if the government failed to protect our rights citizens have the right to rebel against them.

Hope this helped!
