Why is the sympathetic division of the ans called the "fight or flight" system?
Assoli18 [71]
The fight or flight system is a reaction that the body undergoes when put in an either stressful or frightening situation. It includes both the nervous and endocrine system.

The sympathetic division of the peripheral nervous system is used in this response as the sympathetic nervous system works up the body, increases the rate of breathing, heart rate, dilates the pupils, produce more sweat and slow the digestion rate. This reaction happens in the flight or fight system.

What anesthetic do you think should be used for diana's surgery? explain your reasoning?
Rom4ik [11]

The anesthetic that should be used is Propofol.  Propofol would be the ideal choice for this long operation, the patient would be put to sleep and feel no pain so the surgeon can proceed with the operation and Propofol is used to help you relax before and during general anesthesia for surgery or other medical procedure and critically ill patients who require a breathing tube connected to a ventilator.

Mutations in which of the following cells would get passed on to the next generation?
creativ13 [48]

Answer:

C. I and III

Explanation:

A mutation needs to occur in a gamete cell in order to be passed down to the next generation.

If it occurs in a somatic (body) cell, the mutation will only be present in that organism.

On the other hand, in a gamete cell, the mutation will pass down because gamete cells are directly involved in the genetic makeup of the offspring.

So, since sperm and egg cells are gametes, mutations in those cells would get passed on.

The correct answer is C. I and III
