Could someone please help me with this? Solution set of lx^2+mx+n=0 is...?
IgorLugansk [536]

Answer:

Simplifying

lx2 + mx + n = 0

Solving

lx2 + mx + n = 0

Solving for variable 'l'.

Move all terms containing l to the left, all other terms to the right.

Add '-1mx' to each side of the equation.

lx2 + mx + -1mx + n = 0 + -1mx

Combine like terms: mx + -1mx = 0

lx2 + 0 + n = 0 + -1mx

lx2 + n = 0 + -1mx

Remove the zero:

lx2 + n = -1mx

Add '-1n' to each side of the equation.

lx2 + n + -1n = -1mx + -1n

Combine like terms: n + -1n = 0

lx2 + 0 = -1mx + -1n

lx2 = -1mx + -1n

Divide each side by 'x2'.

l = -1mx-1 + -1nx-2

Simplifying

l = -1mx-1 + -1nx-2

Step-by-step explanation:

Hope this helped you!

Talia used 1/3 of a piece of wood for the base of her project 1/4 of the piece of wood for the vertical support and the rest for
Veseljchak [2.6K]

Answer:

The fraction of wood used for horizontal support is \frac{5}{12}.

Step-by-step explanation:

Assume that the total piece of wood is of length 1.

It is provided that Talia used \frac{1}{3} of the piece of wood for the base of he project.

She use \frac{1}{4} of the piece of wood for the for the vertical support.

The remaining wood she used for horizontal support.

The amount of wood used for horizontal support can be computed by the subtracting the amount of wood used for base of the project and vertical support form 1.

Compute the amount of wood used for horizontal support as follows:

Horizontal\ support=1-Base\ of\ project-Vertical\ support\\= 1 - \frac{1}{3}-\frac{1}{4}\\  =\frac{12-4-3}{12} \\=\frac{5}{12}

Thus, the fraction of wood used for horizontal support is \frac{5}{12}.

(20 points) please give me motivation to study and study tips or test taking tips for finals. it would be greatly appreciated.
Daniel [21]

Answer: Think about graduating. Think about never having to take the courses again. You're almost at the finish line! It'll be worth it. You've worked hard all year for this. You can do it!

Study tips: I would recommend Quizlet! They have a section that generates study games. It's a lot more fun than normal studying. It's also a good idea to make a goal for yourself. Try to make a challenge of achieving a certain score! By the time you accomplish said score, you'll find that you've learned a lot. Another tip is to make sure you take breaks. If you work too long without giving yourself a break, it will become harder to focus and your brain will become tired. Just don't get too distracted! set yourself an alarm during break times to help you stay on task. If you become frustrated with a certain subject or task, take a break from that task. Use this time as an opportunity to work on another subject. You can begin working on the first subject again once you feel refreshed. A lot of this may sound redundant, but hopefully it will help at least a little bit. Good luck!

The ratio of volume of a cone and a hemisphere of same base radius and height is?
aliya0001 [1]

Answer:

1/2

Step-by-step explanation:

Since it is given that the cone and the hemisphere have the same height, and since the height of a hemisphere would be equal to its radius, the cones height must also be equal to its base radius.

With this information we can use the respective volume formulas.

Hemisphere:  \frac{2}{3}πr^3

Cone:  \frac{1}{3}πhr^2

Since h (height) = r we can say the cone volume equals:

\frac{1}{3}πr^3

Now to find the ratio we divide the cone volume equation by the hemisphere volume equation

pi and r^3 cancels out from the division and we are left with

ratio = (1/3)/(2/3)

ratio = 1/2
