Answer:

2/(x+7)

Step-by-step explanation:

x²+5x-14 factors as (x-2)(x+7)

SO - multiply the fraction on the right by x+7 (both top and bottom)

Then both have the same denominator (x-2)(x+7), and the 1 becomes x+7.

Then you combine the fractions to make ((3x+3)-(x+7))/(x-2)(x+7).

This becomes (2x-4)/(x-2)(x+7).

You can factor the 2 out of the numerator for 2(x-2).

You now have 2(x-2)/(x-2)(x+7)

The (x-2)’s cancel out and you are left with

2/(x+7)

Answer:

between 222 and 223 days

Step-by-step explanation:

This relation includes the point (0, 2).

A proportional relation must include the point (0, 0).

This is not proportional, but it may be linear.

Points: (0, 2), (2, 20)

y = mx + b

20 = (20 - 2)/(2 - 0) × 2 + b

20 = 18/2 × 2 + b

b = 2

y = 18x + 2

When 4000 people know, y = 4000.

y = 18x + 2

4000 = 18x + 2

3998 = 18x

x = 3998/18

x = 222.111...

madam [21]

Answer:

1.30 p.M.

Step-by-step explanation:

The factory whistle blowed at 1:00 p.M, and it blows every 30 minutes, so it will blow again at 1:30 p.M.

The clock tower chimed at 1.00 p.M., and it chimes every 15 minutes, so it will chime again at 1:15 p.M, and after that, it will chime again at 1:30 p.M.

So, you will hear them both at the same time at 1:30 p.M.

We can also solve this problem using LCM:

the least commom multiple between 15 and 30 is 30, so we just need to sum 30 to the inicial time (1:00 p.M.), so the time they will "find each other" again is 1.30 p.M.
