Why was the country so divided over tariffs, slavery and states’ rights?
balu736 [363]

Answer:

Answer is Option B: They promoted their regional interests.

Explanation:

The biggest issues that divided the nation was their views on the Constitution.

The North wanted a strong national government, having supreme powers and authority. But, the South supported States' rights. They said that states could nullify the federal laws in case they did not agree with them. Both of them also had different opinions on tariffs. On one hand, North wanted high taxes to protect their industries from foreign competition. South, on the other hand,  were against tariffs. They were more self sufficient than the North ones.

North viewed slavery as evil and inhuman while South said slavery was necessary for their way of life and they even cared for the slaves.

Why did hitler oppose stalin's political views?
Tatiana [17]
I think Hitler was already anti-semitic before WWI, and in his warped mind, decided that since Marx, the father of Communism, was a converted Jew so it is logical that Communism is a Jewish conspiracy to destroy Germany.Hitler believed in a social hierarchy and in strong private enterprise - both quite the opposite of communism.

How do you balance governmental authority with personal freedom
dybincka [34]

The first is to protect our security.

The rise of international terrorism, mass movements of people, the transformation in communications technology which makes it easier for terrorists to plan and co-ordinate their campaign.

All of these things make it harder for governments to protect their citizens.

And the security challenge is amplified by the willingness of today's terrorists to murder innocent civilians on a vast scale, using whatever weapons they can get their hands on - and being prepared to kill themselves at the same time

Evaluate the role of political parties in shaping public policy in the United States
jeka94
One of the most important things they do is organizing the competition by choosing candidates to run under their label. This is also affected by how states organize their ballots. Parties also help to unify the electorate and moderate conflict, as well as help organize government and turn preference into policy.
